Alexey Konstantinovich Fedorov ( May 9, 1933 , the village of Nadezhdino, Durasovsky district, now the Saratov region, Russian Federation - April 24, 1998 ) - Soviet , military leader, lieutenant general, chief of staff of the Kiev military district. Biography
In 1944 - 1951 - cadet of the Saratov Suvorov Military School.
Since 1951 he served in the Soviet Army.
He graduated from the Odessa Red Banner Infantry School.
He began his service in the Far Eastern Military District.
Member of the CPSU since 1960 .
He graduated from the Frunze Military Academy and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR named after Voroshilov.
In 1978 - commander of the 68th Novgorod Red Banner Motor Rifle Division of the Central Asian Military District.
In 1978 - 1979 - Chief of Staff - 1st Deputy Commander of the 1st Guards Combined Arms Red Banner Army of the Kiev Military District.
In September 1979 - May 1982 - commander of the 1st Guards Combined Arms Red Banner Army of the Kiev Military District.
In May 1982 - April 1986 - Chief of Staff - 1st Deputy Commander of the Red Banner Kiev Military District.
He worked as the 1st deputy chief of the Main Staff of the Ground Forces of the USSR Ministry of Defense.
From May to August 1986, he participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident and was the head of the Scientific Center of the USSR Ministry of Defense for the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
In March 1987 - March 1988 - Chief of Staff - 1st Deputy Commander of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany.
Then retired
Died of radiation sickness.
