Biography
Larisa Mondrus was born on November 15, 1943 in the city of Dzhambul , according to other sources - in Riga . [1] Larisa's parents are Lidia G. Zapletina and Israel (Igor) Iosifovich Mondrus. After the war, the family moved to Riga. In 1962 she graduated from the Riga Music College and in the same year passed a competition at the Riga Pop Orchestra (REO) at the Riga Philharmonic , where she met R. Pauls 's classmate at a specialized music school, conductor and arranger Egil Schwartz . Among other things, Mondrus impressed Schwartz with the fact that she freely performed hits in the original languages - Polish, Italian, French, English [2] . The personal relations of Mondrus and Schwartz outgrew purely business and creative, and in 1964 they got married. In the same year they receive an invitation to Moscow to work in the Eddie Rosner Orchestra. Later, she goes to work in the Moscow Music Hall , with which she travels abroad twice ( Poland and East Germany ). From 1968 to 1972 he worked in the Moskontsert .
The song “Ticket to Childhood” brought success (musician art. , Article R. Rozhdestvensky ; later entered the repertoire of E. Piekha ) [3] . In the mid-1960s, largely thanks to memorable performances at the New Year 's Blue Lights , the singer was gaining all-Union popularity. She continues to appear on television, acting in films. Records of her songs diverge in huge numbers. Larisa Mondrus sang some of the songs of Raymond Pauls , including the song "Blue Flax", which first brought fame to both the singer and the composer. Her repertoire contains many songs about love (“Through the Sea I Will Throw Bridges” by A. Flyarkovsky , Art. R. Rozhdestvensky and others). Mondrus was one of the first to dance while singing, which was then disapproved of in the 1960s [3] . And despite the popularity with the viewer, thanks to which Mondrus starred in the film “ Give a Pitiful Book ” (a singer in a cafe - she sang A. Lepin’s song at A. Galich ’s article “Good City”), the official criticism did not accept it [ 3] .
The singer refused to sing the ideologically sustained "civic theme" imposed by the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and to make any compromises with the leadership of the Soviet stage , as a result of which she becomes "restricted to travel abroad". In 1971, after joining the leadership of the State Committee on Radio and Television Sergey Lapin , she and Vadim Mulerman were deprived of television broadcasts. She is invited to tour the state concert organizations of Czechoslovakia and the GDR , but the State Concert declares: “There are no applications for Mondrus.” Without explaining the reasons, Mondrus is deprived of recitals, finding a ridiculous excuse for this. Once such a ban was caused by the fact that she dared to speak in Star City in a miniskirt .
Larisa Mondrus and Egil Schwartz decided to leave the country. In 1973, they submitted documents to the OVIR and in the same year, having received permission to travel to Israel, left the USSR.
In Germany
In March 1973, Larisa Mondrus and her husband emigrated to Germany . According to Mondrus, they had a choice of where to settle: Hamburg , Cologne or Munich . They chose Munich and subsequently never regretted this decision. Having bought a house, the Schwartz-Mondrus family moves to Grunwald - a suburb of Munich .
Having decided to pursue a career as a singer, she signed a contract with the large company Polydor Records and already in 1974 released her first album in German “Die Herzen singen”. By 1977, she gained European popularity as Larissa, toured a lot, often performs on German television both with solo numbers and in various music shows, with such famous singers as partners like Ivan Rebrov , Karel Gott , Vittorio Casagrande , Michael Shanzet and others [4] [5] . She sang songs in German, English, Latvian, Italian, Hebrew [3] . Benevolent criticism emphasized not only the vocal characteristics of the singer (voice), but also her bright appearance, stage plasticity and artistry .
For some time she worked as an announcer on Radio Liberty in Munich - read the news. She was friendly with Alexander Galich .
In 1982, Larisa Mondrus gives birth to the long-awaited son Lauren, and soon she leaves the scene. Having bought a shoe store in Munich, she has been in business ever since. In the early 1990s, the singer toured in Riga, met with maestro Raymond Pauls.
