“The Irishman” ( Eng. The Irishman ) is the upcoming American drama film directed by Martin Scorsese [3] as directed by Stephen Zillian , based on the novel “I heard you paint the house” by Charles Brandt. The main roles were played by Robert De Niro , Al Pacino , Joe Pesci , Bobby Cannavale , Harvey Keitel and Ray Romano [4] . The release of the film is scheduled for 2019 on Netflix .

Story

Creation
Martin Scorsese for a long time intended to make the Irishman, and invite Robert De Niro , Joe Peshi and Al Pacino to star in the lead roles [5] . In September 2014, Pacino confirmed his participation in the project, which was to become the next work of the director, after “ Silence ”. Bobby Kannavale also entered the cast of the upcoming project [6] . In October of next year, De Niro announced that work on the film is still underway, and filming may begin in 2016. At the same time, Scorsese confirmed that Stephen Zaillyan is already working on a script [7] [8] .
In May 2016, it was announced that the rights to the film would be offered at the 69th Cannes Film Festival . Mexican producer Fabrika de Sin offered Paramount Pictures a sum of $ 100 million, in return for reserving their internal rights in the work on the film [9] .
