The Drozdov brothers (clan Pleshakov farm , village Elanskaya, Donskoy Troops Region (now Sholokhov district , Rostov region ) are the Cossacks of the Pleshakov farm, brothers Aleksey and Pavel Drozdov. Aleksey is one of the prototypes of Grigory Melekhov , Pavel - Peter Melekhov in the novel Quiet Don " M. A. Sholokhov [1] .

Biography
The Drozdov family had three sons and five daughters. By 1917, his father, Grigory Panteleevich, was no longer alive, the mother of the house was Agrippina Markovna. Sons lived in the parental home: Pavel Grigoryevich with his wife Maria Andreyanovna, Alexei Grigoryevich with his wife Maria Mikhailovna, also unmarried daughters: Fokla, Akulina and Daria “big” - is unknown. The eldest son Michael lived separately. Brothers Alexei and Pavel Drozdov in the first world war became officers. According to another version - Pavel came a corral , with two St. George crosses , Alex - without ranks and awards.
From the spring of 1917 (according to other sources, from 1918 ) to the fall of 1919, the parents of the writer Alexander Mikhailovich and Anastasia Danilovna Sholokhov with their only son, M. A. Sholokhov, rented a house from the Drozdov family.
About the prototypes of the heroes of the novel " Quiet Flows the Don " Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov replied:

When, in response to searches, arrests, executions, and other harassment by the Soviet government, the Upper Don Cossacks revolted in the spring of 1919 , Pavel Drozdov, like Peter Melekhov later in the novel The Quiet Don , led the Pleshakov-Krivsky hundred rebels. Part of the hundreds was surrounded by the squadron of the fifth Zaamur regiment, after which, believing the promises to save the rebels' life, they surrendered. But after this 28 (according to other sources - from 18 to 24) Cossacks were killed, including Pavel Drozdov (Pavel Drozdov - with two shots at point blank range, the rest are hacked).
Three months later, Pavel’s wife, Maria, shot one of the participants in the reprisals at Viltov Yar, a member of the Elansk Revolutionary Committee member Ivan Alekseevich Serdinov (in the novel “ Tikhiy Don ” - Ivan Alekseevich Kotlyarov), for which she subsequently received gratitude and 500 rubles in cash from the hands of the commander of the Don Army General V.I. Sidorin.
