Miia Rannikmäe ( Est. Miia Rannikmäe , nee Tammeorg, Est. Tammeorg ; born October 4, 1951, Tartu ) is an Estonian chemist who specializes in cognitive psychology and scientific literacy. [1] [2]

Biography
Rannikmäe graduated from the University of Tartu as a chemist and chemistry teacher in 1975. In 1996, she defended her master's work on the topic "Phenomenographic analysis of the concept of chemical reaction in students." In 2001, she received a doctorate in science and science from the same university. As of November 2015 - Professor of Science Education, Chairman of the Center for Science Education of the University of Tartu. [one]
Her research focuses on chemical literacy among primary school students, as well as the scientific and technological literacy of high school students. [1] She worked as a school teacher, has connections with scientific teacher organizations in Estonia and abroad. In 2004, she was a member of the high-level group of the European Commission and contributed to the publication “ Europe needs more Scientists ”. As a supervisor, he organizes the work of doctoral students in scientific literacy, problem-based learning and the nature of science. [3]
