Qualification period

The results shown in any competition held under the auspices of the FIS are counted towards the athletes.

Qualification Criteria

Qualification Criterion A

Athletes with a maximum of 100 points in the FIS ranking are eligible for Qualification A. They have the right to participate in both distance and sprint races. Athletes with less than 120 FIS sprint points will be allowed to compete in the sprint and 10 km for women or 15 km for men, while their distance points must not exceed 300 points.

Qualification Criterion B

Athletes who do not pass the criteria A can enter the Games by fulfilling criterion B, according to which skiers with less than 300 FIS points in distance or sprint races can participate in sprint competitions and 10 km for women or 15 km for men.

Quota types

Base quota

Each NOC can apply for the Games 1 man and 1 woman, if they have fulfilled the qualification criterion B. If the country has skiers who have fulfilled the criterion A, then for this NOC will be given the opportunity to declare one athlete of a different gender according to criterion B.

Top 300

Each NOC that has at least one man or woman in the Top 300 will be allocated another male and / or female quota in addition to the main quota.

Top 30

Each NOC can be allocated two more quotas for men and women if two or more athletes from the country are included in the Top 30 FIS qualification rating.

Remaining quotas

The remaining quotas will be distributed among the athletes from the Top 500 joint rating. According to this rating, each country can get the necessary quantities about until the total value of 20 licenses is reached. Each NOC independently distributes quotas from this paragraph in a quantitative ratio between men and women, while not exceeding the maximum allowable values ​​for each gender.

Age restrictions

For skiers selected for the Games, the minimum permitted age is set. Athletes born after December 31, 2001 will not be able to take part in the Games.
