The National Archives and Records Administration is also: The National Archives ( English National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) ) is an independent agency of the United States government. Created in 1984 . The National Archives is responsible for storing the originals of such fundamental historical documents as the US Declaration of Independence , the US Constitution , the Bill of Rights , documenting the activities of the US government, and expanding the boundaries of public access to those documents contained in the National Archives. NARA is officially responsible for maintaining and publishing legally authentic and authoritative copies of acts of the US Congress , presidential appeals and orders, is also in charge of federal regulations. The NARA chief executive officer is the archivist of the United States , who not only oversees official documentation on the passage of amendments to the US Constitution by state legislatures , but also has the authority to declare when the Constitutional threshold for passing the document has been reached, and therefore when it became an act of amendment. NARA also transmits electoral votes to the US Congress.

The National Archives and Records Administration was the first organization to accept Wikipedist for the permanent position of a “resident wiki” - as such, Dominic McDevitt-Parks ( Dominic McDevitt-Parks ), who edited Wikipedia since 2004, was hired into the innovation office . [1] and a masters in history and archive management [2] [3] .
