Content
History
In the List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire, published in 1879, the settlement is mentioned as the village of Pozdyshevskaya (Pozdysheva), Kargopol district (1st camp), with wells, located 22 versts from the county town of Kargopol . In the village there were 16 yards and 104 people lived (50 men and 54 women). The Orthodox chapel, mill and forge were functioning [2] .
In 1905, the village’s population was 157 people (81 men and 76 women). There were 27 yards and 31 families. There were livestock: 29 horses, 35 cows and 120 heads of other livestock [3] . Administratively and territorially, the village was part of the Verkhnechuregsky society of the Nifantovsky volost of the Kargopol district.
In 1929-1975, the village was part of Pozdyshevsky Village Council. Since 1975 is part of Oshevensky Village Council.
Geography
The village is located in the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk region, in the headwaters of the Shardush river ( Onega basin), at a distance of about 22 kilometers (straight) north-north-west (NNW) from the city of Kargopol, the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 252 meters above sea level [4] .
