History
VERETIE - the village of the Borovsky society, the parish of the village of Dymi.

The number of inhabitants according to the family lists of 1879: 11 m. P.; according to the parish information of 1879: 10 m. p. [2]
At the end of the XIX century - the beginning of the XX century, the village administratively belonged to the Bolshedvorsky volost of the 3rd zemsky section of the 1st camp of the Tikhvin district of the Novgorod province .

According to 1933, the Veretye Novoye farm was part of the Borkovsky Village Council of the Tikhvin District [5] .
According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Veretye was part of the Bolshedvorsky Village Council [6] [7] [8] .
In 1997, 42 people lived in the village of Veretye of the Bolshedvorsky volost, in 2002 - 54 people (Russians - 96%) [9] [10] .
In 2007, 47 people lived in the village of Veretye of the Bolshedvorsky JV , in 2010 - 36 [11] [12] .
Geography
It is located in the northwestern part of the area north of the A114 highway .
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 6 km [11] .
The nearest railway platform is Smoke .
The village is located on the left bank of the Tikhvinka River.
