Story
Summer is coming to an end, and all members of the Simpsons family are trying to manage to do everything that they planned. After fulfilling the plans, the rest of the family, Lisa is outraged that her request remained unfulfilled, and the Simpsons with the whole family go to the museum. There is a huge line of people at the entrance to the arms exhibition hall, where Ned Flanders is the very first, but Homer pushes him, and then the rest of the Springfield residents do the same. As a result, Flanders is at the very end of the line, and the exhibition closes before he manages to get on it. Rod and Todd are upset, but a museum clerk says they can enjoy the rest of the museum. They go into the hall called the Hall of Man - “Hall of Man” (similar to “ Dawn of Man ”), where they see reconstructions of the ancient ancestors of modern man and an exposition of archaeological excavations confirming the reality of evolution , while an exhibit depicting a biblical version of the creation The world has the name "creation myth ", and the reproduction of the plot of this exhibit takes place to dance music with the words "what kind of fool believes in this?" The Flanders, along with Lovejoy, go to Springfield Elementary School and convince Director Skinner to start teaching school creationism along with evolution by blackmailing . This causes Lisa's displeasure, which at the city meeting convinces the townspeople to return to teaching the only correct theory; as a result, only creationism begins to be studied at school.
Lisa secretly gathers smart students to read Charles Darwin 's Origin of Species , but Chef Wiggum arrests her for teaching “non-biblical science.” A lawsuit called Lisa Simpson v. God is underway, in which the interests of religion are defended by the popular Southerner's lawyer Wallace Brady, and a New York-based female lawyer is advocating for religion. The process is not going well for Lisa, since the testimony of her witness, Professor Frink , does not please the court, while witness Wallace Brady, with a degree in "truth", gives a popular thesis about the " Missing Link " between a person and his ancestor, than convinces ignorant citizens and arouses the trust of the jury.
Lisa is worried, and Marge is taken to read The Origin of Species, and now she is personally convinced of the plausibility of the theory of evolution. She decides to help Lisa and brings a tightly closed bottle of Duff beer with her to the courtroom and gives it to Homer. Ned Flanders , who shortly before that, said under oath that he denies the possibility of a man being related to other primates , seeing Homer trying to open the bottle, calls him a monkey.
