History
The plant was founded in 1859 by Count I.I. Vorontsov-Dashkov . In the XIX century was one of the best private factories. The plant was engaged in breeding Orlov trotter breed . Since 1890, the plant began an experiment using purebred horse stallions (Boyar, Voltiger) and the best American trotters . The Oryol-American mestizos obtained here played a large role in breeding the Russian trotter breed .
After the revolution of 1917, the Novotomnikovsky stud farm was nationalized, becoming the state-owned factory No. 77. Since 1920, the Novotomnikovsky stud farm again began to specialize in breeding Orlov trotters. Pets of the plant were awarded gold medals of the All-Russian Agricultural Exhibition . The outstanding success of the economy was the birth in 1934 of the Stall of the End, the founder of the new progressive line in the Oryol breed. Horses from Novotomnikovo were acquired by stud farms in Hungary, Germany, China, Czechoslovakia, and Sweden [1] . In the 1940s - 1960s, the Novotomnikovsky type was created in the plant - a large, elegant, with a pronounced breed. The plant had a great influence on the breed of Oryol trotters stallions grown in it [2] .
