History
Known since the 1840s. The original name is Nameless Lane. In its history, the street has repeatedly changed its names: Gymnasium Street (1898–1925), Vaysman Street (1925–1941), again - Gymnasium (1941–1957), Institutskaya Street (1957–1971), Foreign College Street (1971–1995). In 1995, the original name was returned.
In 1898, on the corner with Novo-Rybnaya Street, a three-story gymnasium building was built (architect Nikolai Tolvinsky ). In 1899, the educational institution was transformed into the 5th gymnasium. Then Bezymyanny Lane was renamed Gymnasium Street.
