Wonsz ( Polish. Wąsosz ) is a village in Poland , part of the Grajewski county of Podlaskie Voivodeship . The administrative center of the district is Wonsos . It is located on the Wissa River ( Biebrzi tributary) about 16 km south-west of the town of Grajewo . According to 2015 estimates, approximately 1,236 people lived in the village [1] . There is a late Gothic church (1508–1532).

History
Wonsosh had city status from 1436 to 1870 [2] . At the end of the 19th century, it was a place in the Schuchinsky district of the Lomzhino province . There were 2592 inhabitants, there was a distillery [3] . In 1941, a Jewish pogrom took place in Vonsoš, during which several hundred people were killed [4] .
