About the performance
Warsaw Melody is a graduation performance by students of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (course by L. A. Dodin ) 2007. Like the main performance of the course Life and Fate , it was included in the repertoire of the Maly Drama Theater .
“Warsaw Melody” is a melodrama about the love of Victor and Geli. He went through the war and is now a student, she is also a student, a Polish singer. The story of their love, destroyed by the law of the Soviet government on the prohibition of marriage with foreigners, goes through the years from the first meeting to the last look at each other. The play used the music of Frederic Chopin, Henrik Vars, Mark Fradkin and songs to verses by Julian Tuvim, Evgeny Dolmatovsky.
