In South Park, God is depicted as a strange creature, a hybrid of a cat , a hippo and a monkey ; in addition, he has a long tongue, like the reptiles with which he catches flies. The creators of the series explained the appearance of “their” God: “Why does everyone think that God should look like an old white guy with gray hair? No one knows what God looks like. We can only guess ” [1] .
God can appear in Paradise if addressed to him; he speaks in a deep, low, uterine voice, and when he appears, a radiance emanates from him. Despite the fact that God is obviously Christian (he is the father of Jesus ), he himself says that he is a Buddhist, and only Mormons are allowed into Paradise . However, in the episode " Best Friends Forever, " on the eve of the battle between Paradise and Hell, he begins to take significantly more people to heaven.
On the eve of the millennium, Jesus begins to turn to God for advice. When people demand from Jesus that the God in whom they believe appears before them, God refuses him. Jesus’s idea of replacing the appearance of God with Rod Stuart’s concert fails, but when people are about to crucify him again, Jesus realizes that God wanted to let him solve the problem on his own. Then God nevertheless appears on Earth, shocking people with his appearance. He agrees to answer one question of people, and this question becomes Stan's question about why he does not start critical days. God promises to answer the next question after another two thousand years.
God in the series doesn't hate Satan at all. When he comes to him for advice, God speaks calmly to him, gives him advice about his relationship and does not express any dissatisfaction with the fact that they are homosexual. God later helps Satan by sending Saddam Hussein to paradise. However, when Satan goes to Paradise in the 904 series, God takes action: he creates the PSP prefix and kills Kenny , who must control the Paradise troops thanks to his talent to play it.
However, neither in this series, nor in other series later than the fourth season, concerning the questions of Paradise and Hell, God does not appear personally. The only exception is the episode “ Stairway to Heaven ”, where he checks to see if Saddam Hussein is making weapons of mass destruction in paradise, but he is not digging the truth. The voice of God in this episode is different from the one that sounded earlier, and is somewhat reminiscent of the voice of Satan , sounding in the series; however, only the voice is heard in the episode, but God himself is not visible.
It should be noted that, despite the appearance of God to them and life in the neighborhood with Jesus, many residents of South Park easily become atheists (for example, in episodes 608, 1012).
