Content
History
Arkhangelsk was founded in 1737 and was originally called Cochin . In the 60s of the XVIII century, the community of the Old Believers - Fedoseyevts "Znamensky consent" - settled in the village. In the second half of the XIX century, the village was renamed Arkhangelskoe [2] .
Geography
The village is located in the southwestern part of the Trans-Baikal Territory, on the left bank of the Chikoy River, at a distance of about 9 kilometers south-west of the village of Krasny Chikoy [2] , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 756 meters above sea level [3] . The climate is temperate, sharply continental. The average temperature in July is +14 - +16 ° С (absolute maximum - +36 ° С). The average January temperature is −22 - −26 ° С (absolute minimum is −53 ° С). The annual precipitation is 350–500 mm [4] .
