Biography

Born on February 8, 1953.

He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where he conducts scientific and pedagogical activity: he is the head of the computer science department at the MIPT, the head of the basic computer science department at the faculty of management and applied mathematics.

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.

Scientific Activities

Main scientific results:

  • a grid-characteristic method and hybrid grid-characteristic schemes have been developed for the numerical solution of multidimensional dynamic problems in the mechanics of deformable solids with different rheological properties in a wide range of pressures and temperatures on regular moving and irregular computational grids;
  • implemented a hybrid characteristic method of smooth particles for the numerical solution of problems of meteorite protection and asteroid hazard;
  • numerical solutions have been obtained for the problems of high-speed interaction of deformable bodies, the effect of charged particle beams, laser and X-ray radiation on composite and metal plates;
  • on the stress state of the railgun electrodes;
  • on the dynamic deformation and destruction of the shells of nuclear reactors and perforated structures (for example, high-rise structures) under the influence of intense loads (the task of countering terrorist acts);
  • numerical solutions of a wide class of problems of biomechanics with medical applications were obtained;
  • The processes of wave propagation are studied and the configuration of wave fronts in multilayer structure media as well as in heterogeneous continuous media (seismic survey tasks in geophysics) is obtained.

Author of more than 200 scientific and educational works.

Under his leadership, was defended 11 Ph.D. and 1 doctoral thesis.
