Banjo-Kazooie is a platform video game developed by Rare and originally released on Nintendo 64 in 1998. This is the first game in the Banjo-Kazooie series that talks about the Banjo bear and the Kazuya bird and how they try to stop the plans of Grutnilda's witch, who intends to steal beauty from Banjo's sister, Tuti. The game has 9 different game worlds, where the player must collect yellow puzzles called "Jiggies". The player needs to solve puzzles, jump over obstacles, collect objects and destroy enemies.

The game achieved significant commercial success: almost 2 million copies were sold in the United States . She was praised for her detailed graphics, impressive sound and sophisticated level design. In 1999, Banjo-Kazooie was awarded two awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences: “Console action game of the year” and “Outstanding achievements in art / graphics”. In 2008, a remaster of the game for the Xbox 360 was made, and it was included in the Rare Replay for the Xbox One in 2015 . The second part of the game, Banjo-Tooie , was released in 2000 .
Gameplay
Banjo-Kazooie is a single-player platformer in which the player controls the main characters of the third-person Banjo and Kazuie. The game is divided into nine levels, where the player must collect musical notes and puzzle pieces called "Jiggies" in order to advance the plot [1] .

The game achieved significant commercial success: more than 1.8 million copies were sold in the United States, and more than 405,000 units in Japan [13] [14] . GamePro described Banjo-Kazooie as "a more complex, smoother, and more attractive game than its predecessor plumber Super Mario 64 . I’m sure that even the most persistent critics of the Nintendo 64 raise their eyebrows ” [6] .
Game Country reviewer Sergei Ovchinnikov noted that “Banjo-Kazooie is a good game. And even great. It’s not Rare’s fault that Nintendo does everything or almost everything a couple of years before her. ” [12]
