History
At the beginning of the 18th century, on the place where the village is now located, the Ukrainian Cossacks from the Belogorie suburb owned hay fields. In 1720, Vasiliy Filimonov, a priest of the Belogoryevskaya Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, founded a farm here, which received the name Popov Farm from the residents of the region. In subsequent years, the farm was transformed into the settlement Popovka. In 1815, the stone Transfiguration Church was built here.
