Agriculture

Agriculture provides about 17% of GDP.

Côte d'Ivoire is one of the largest exporters of Robusta coffee in the world (198 thousand tons, 8th place in the world), natural rubber (123 thousand tons), and it takes the first place in the world in the collection of cocoa beans. 10.23% of the country's territory is cultivated, 73 thousand ha are irrigated . Rice , pineapples , sugarcane , millet and others are also grown. The tsetse fly is widespread, as a result of which animal husbandry is developed only in the north of the country. Over 60 thousand tons of fish are caught annually .

Industry

Mining has been developed in Côte d'Ivoire. Diamonds (15 thousand carats) and gold (about 3.5 tons) are mined. There are also enterprises for the processing of rubber and cocoa beans, for the production of shoes and clothes, chemical plants. The production of consumer goods has been developed. Oil is being produced. Explored 220 million barrels of oil and 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Energy

About two-thirds of the electricity is generated at thermal power plants , the rest at hydroelectric power plants . In 2012, 6.688 billion kWh of energy was produced, 645 million kWh was exported to neighboring countries [1] .
