Eleazar of Worms ( Heb. אלעזר מוורמייזא ); the full name Eleazar ben Judah ben Kalonimos ( Eleazar ben Judah ben Kalonymus ; genus, probably in Mainz c. 1176, d. in Worms in 1238) - a prominent German rabbi- halachist and Kabbalist ; the author of the work "Roquet" (ed. 1505) [5]

Biography
He came from the noble in Mainz, was educated under the guidance of the rabbi Jude the Pious , who initiated him into the secrets of Kabbalah [5] .
In 1233, Eleazar attended a congress of rabbis in Mainz (see en: Takkanot Shum ) [5] .
Possessed a huge erudition in Talmudic writing, there was no stranger to secular knowledge, especially astronomy . His liturgical works are distinguished by their beautiful style. [five]
In the history of Kabbalah, Eleazar of Worms occupies a prominent place as the author of the composition Roheach ( Ha-Roḳeaḥ ; Perfumer; ed. 1505), which is the bridge between German mysticism and the philosophical Kabbalah of the Spanish school. This work was a handbook of the Jewish reader in the Middle Ages and the New Age until the XVIII century. [five]
