Alexander Sergeevich Bogomolov (born August 16, 1954 ) is a Soviet and Russian tennis player , tennis coach. USSR Master of Sports of international class (1981). The father of tennis player A. A. Bogomolov [1] .

Biography
Born in 1954. He started playing tennis at the age of nine. The first coach is A. Lepeshin . He played for DSO Dynamo [1] .
The five-time champion of the USSR among young men in singles (1972), doubles (1972–73) and mixed (1973–73) categories; Absolute champion of the USSR (1972). Winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR 1983 in the national team of Moscow. Champion of the USSR in pair (1977, 1981–82) and finalist in mixed doubles (1982). Winner of the USSR Cup (1981, 1983) as part of the team of DSO Dynamo. Finalist of the All-Union Winter Competitions 1982 in singles and doubles. Winner of the tournament of the ten strongest tennis players of the USSR (1981). Champion of CS Dynamo and VS DSO of the Trade Unions in singles (1982). Winner of the open championship of the Ukrainian SSR (1982) in singles. He was one of the ten strongest tennis players of the USSR (1975–82; the best place was the fourth, 1981–82) [1] .
Finalist of the European Championship (1981) in pair and semi-finalist in mixed. Finalist of the Valerio Cup draw (1972) as part of the USSR national youth team. The winner of the 1975 Turkish Open Singles and Doubles. Winner of the Winter International Tournament in pair and finalist in singles (1982). Winner of the Summer (1975) and Winter (1979) international mixed tournaments [1] .

After the performance, he switched to coaching. Head coach of the Dynamo CS (1983–92). Coach of the Tampico Tennis Club ( Mexico ; 1992–94). In 1994-2001 - Senior coach of the Montana Tennis Academy ( Miami , USA ) [3] .
In the early 2000s he returned to Russia [3] . He founded his own tennis academy in Moscow [4] .
Among his wards are E. Bryukhovets , L. Savchenko , P. Zhoromsky [1] . He was also the first coach of his son Alexander Bogomolov [5] [6] .
