Story
Nineteen-year-old Yoshi works at the factory during the day and at the bar in the evenings, but dreams of a more glamorous life. At the bar, she meets Eiji, a member of the Yakuza gang, whose attention is flattering her. They have a relationship, but soon Eiji, who by nature is a pretty cruel man, was mired in debt as a result of gambling. He does not need much time to push Yoshi into prostitution. Soon she falls into a maelstrom of cruelty and humiliation. Even with the help of an engineer who loved her, she could not free herself from Eiji's influence, clinging to him with a mixture of love, fear and compassion. Only through a desperate act can she be freed. The neon lights of the night city, once beckoning Yoshi, now only illuminate its inner void. Hope for another life remains incredibly inaccessible.

... What makes him one of the hottest films about prostitution is his imaginative concept of the world. Angles and camera movements, colors and editing - everything was done brilliantly to illustrate his constant sacrifice and force us to emotionally assimilate the vibrant city as a dazzling parade, which, despite the offer of escape, always returns the heroine to her situation. Stylistically, the film anticipates Wong Karwai with his “ Loving Mood ” and echoes Douglas Serke in his most exciting works.
