Story
Tane runs a small cheap hotel where love couples often rent rooms. Her father of three adult children married another woman, but regularly visits the family. Despite this unfavorable situation, the atmosphere in the house is very cheerful and friendly and they make efforts to give everything a certain semblance of respectability. Her eldest daughter Matsuko meets with Kazuo, a work colleague. When her marital status becomes known to her boyfriend's parents, Kazuo is forced to submit to the pressure from her mother and breaks off their relationship. In desperation, Matsuko moves to Kobe , where he finds work at a nightclub. Kazuo marries another girl.
