David ben Solomon ibn Yahya (1455-1528) is a Lisbon rabbi, compiler of the Jewish grammar Leschon Limmudim (1506) [1] .

Biography
David ibn Yahya was a rabbi in Lisbon (1476). Accused of trying to return the marranes back to Jewry, he was sentenced by Juan II to death at the stake, but escaped with his family to Naples , was arrested and forced to sell his library in order to save money for his release from prison. Then he fled to Corfu , and then moved to Arta , from where he wrote a letter to the rich Isa Messene asking for help; it was copied by and published by Grez . In Arta he soon died in dire need. - a collection of the best explanations of various Bible commentators (2nd ed., Venice, 1518);
- “Schekel ha-kodesch” - on the rules of Jewish poetics (Constantinople, 1520);
- "Tefïllah le-David" - an incomplete commentary on the Psalms ;
- “Hilchoth Terefoth” - on the theme of the ritual slaughter of animals (Const., 1520);
- Commentary on Maimonides ' Moreh .
