General information
Belišće is located in the east of the country, in the Drava valley, 2 kilometers from the river itself. A small river Karashitsa, a tributary of the Drava, flows through the city.
Five kilometers from Belišće is the city of Valpovo . 25 km to the north-west is the city of Donji Miholjac , 25 km to the north-east is Beli Manastir , 35 km to the south-west is the city of Nasice , 25 kilometers to the south-east is the capital of Osijek province. The city is connected by road with Valpovo and through it with other Croatian cities.
Belišće is an industrial center. The largest enterprise in the city is a woodworking factory. Also, the population is employed in the food and chemical industries, as well as in agriculture.
Tourists are attracted by both the sights of the city and the opportunities for recreation, hunting and fishing in the vicinity.
