Monument to Peter Zaporozhets (Bila Tserkva)

Monument to Peter Zaporozhets ( Ukrainian monument to Pyotr Zaporozhets ) is a monumental sculpture to the leader of the Russian revolutionary movement Pyotr Zaporozhets (1873-1905), V. I. Lenin ’s comrade-in-arms on the “ Union for the Emancipation of the Working Class ”.

It is located in the homeland of P. Zaporozhets in the city of Bila Tserkva ( Kiev region , Ukraine ) on the eponymous square adjacent to the former Visitors House (now the Clark Hotel). The square around the monument is a popular vacation spot for citizens.

Established in 1971. The author is a famous sculptor, director, screenwriter and playwright Ivan Kavaleridze .

The pedestal of the monument is made in the form of a stepped pyramid composed of disproportionate blocks of red granite . The personal signature of P. Zaporozhets and the years of his life from bronze numbers are attached to the pedestal with bronze details. The monument itself is a bronze bust from the image of P. Zaporozhets, bowing his head and chin, resting on hands folded on each other with clenched fists.

The monument is made in the style of cubism and is a valuable heritage of the outstanding sculptor.

In connection with the de-communization policy pursued in Ukraine, the existence of the monument is in danger of destruction, the city executive committee made the corresponding decision in June 2016. [one]
