Biography
Born on December 26, 1934 in the village of Tarasivka, Pustomytovsky district, Lviv region.
In 1962 he graduated from the Lviv Institute of Physical Culture (now Lviv State University of Physical Culture ).
Being engaged in weightlifting, in 1963 he became a master of sports. After the end of a sports career, he became a coach. He worked as a senior trainer in DSO " Lokomotiv " ( Lviv ) in 1964-1976. He was the head coach of the national team of the Ukrainian SSR and Ukraine in 1991-1992. He prepared 9 international sports masters and 80 sports masters of Ukraine. [2] Among his students [1] are V. Zhabokritsky , Yu. Yurchenko, G. Yurkevich , A. Ohanyan, A. Levandovsky [3] , A. Kozlovsky, G. Khomenko, A. Butenko, A. Gentosh [4 ] .
Since 1977 he worked as a teacher at the Lviv Institute of Physical Education (Associate Professor since 1991). In 1993-2001, Vasilishin was the chairman of the Weightlifting Federation of Lviv Region .
He was awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine "For Excellent Success in Work" and the medal of the NOC of Ukraine "For a significant contribution to the Olympic movement. [2]
