Sulak Canyon

Sulak Canyon ( Avar. Sulakh Kukkal ) - a canyon in the valley of the Sulak River (Republic of Dagestan ), the deepest canyon of Europe and one of the deepest in the world. Its length is 53 kilometers, the depth reaches up to 1920 meters. It is 120 meters deeper than the famous Grand Canyon and 620 meters deeper than the Tara River Canyon. The depth is second only to the canyons of Kotauasi and Kolka in Peru.
