Jonny Jensen began his professional career at the Norwegian club Sannefjord. In 1999, Jensen joined the German club Bad Schwartau. In 2001, Jensen as part of the Bad Schwartau club won the German Cup. In 2001, Jonny Jensen moved to Aisenach. In 2003, Jensen moved to Flensburg-Handewitt . As part of the Flensburg-Handewitt, Jonny Jensen became the champion of Germany. In 2010, Jonny Jensen returned to Norway and played for the Netterøy club.
