Collar Shrivel

Collared shrubby pine ( Latin: Lipaugus streptophorus ) is a bird of the Cating family, one of 9 species of shrike pine. The species was first described by scientists Salvin and Godman in 1884. This is a small bird about the size of a sparrow. The beak is short and sharp, the head is round. The main color of the plumage is dark gray, the abdomen is lighter, the bottom of the tail and throat are bright red-purple. Due to the special coloration of the neck, it got its name "collar". However, only males have this throat color. The basis of the diet is small insects and larvae. Inhabits the forests growing in the Guiana Highlands in southeastern Venezuela, in western Guyana and in northern Brazil.
