Biography

Born in 1940 in the Megino-Kangalassky district of the Yakut ASSR.

He was engaged in checkers, reaching the title of candidate for master of sports. Then, for more than 25 years, Nikolay Kychkin worked as a drafts coach. Also, his wife, Maria Birdynnyrova , was a drafts coach, with whom they raised and trained their son, the Yakut drafts player and coach Nikolai Kychkin [2] , as well as 85 world champions and prize-winners, 86 - Europe, 491 - Russia. [3] Only one Nikolay Nikolaevich prepared 51 champions and prize-winners of world championships, 36 - Europe, 204 - Russia, including two international-class grandmasters and six Russian grandmasters. As a teacher, Nikolai Nikolayevich Kychkin worked at Yakutsk State University (now Northeastern Federal University ). [5]

He died in 2010 .

His son, full of his father’s namesake, continued the work of his parents and works as a coach at the Churapchinsky Republican Secondary Sports Boarding School named after Dmitry Petrovich Korkin.

Memory

  • In Yakutsk , a republican tournament on international drafts in memory of Nikolai Kychkin is held. [5]
  • In 2015, the village of Doydu of the Megino-Kangalassky ulus was opened a new sports and cultural complex named after the honored trainer of the Russian Federation and the RS (Y) Nikolay Kychkin.
