Omega 1 Scorpio is the star of the main sequence of the spectral class B1 V. [2] It has a luminosity of about 9120 luminosities of the Sun , which is consistent with estimates of the age of 5 million years and the mass of 11 solar masses . [6] The radius is 6.6 times that of the sun. [7] The effective temperature of the outer layers of the atmosphere is 26530 K. [2]
Scorpio's Omega 1 is a variable star of the Beta Cepheus type and experiences non-radial pulsations, 15 cycles per day. [8] With this, the surface temperature ranges from 28,300 K to 22,600 K along the equator. The star rotates rapidly, the projective rotational speed is 105 km / s, the rotation period is estimated at 14.4 hours. The polar axis of the star is inclined to the line of sight from the Earth at an angle of about 60 °. [9]
