Shevchenko, Maxim Leonardovich

Origin

Shevchenko’s maternal grandfather, Vasily Fomich Yuskovich , came from peasants in Western Belarus ^[1] . He served a year for espionage in favor of Poland on the charge that he had to blow up a bridge across the Volga on the instructions of intelligence ^[2] . Grandfather was a professor and taught physics at the Ulyanovsk Pedagogical Institute , knew five languages. By conviction - a communist . Education

He graduated from the 3rd German school - a special school with in-depth study of the German language . He studied at the same school with Stanislav Belkovsky ^{[10] [11] [12]} .

In 1990 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute. Sergo Ordzhonikidze with a degree in Design and Technology of Electronic Computing Tools ^[13] . He has an incomplete second higher education in Oriental studies - he attended a course of lectures at the Institute of Asian and African Countries of Moscow State University on the history of culture and the Arabic language ^{[13] [14]} .

Teaching

From 1993 to 1995 he taught the history of Russia and the history of Western Europe in the Orthodox classical gymnasium "Radonezh-Yasenevo" ^[13] .

Work as a journalist, television and radio host

From 1989 to 1991, he worked as a special correspondent in the newspaper Vestnik Kristiannoy Demokratii, published by the Christian Democratic Union of Russia ^[13] .

From 1994 to 1995 he worked as an editor in the pedagogical newspaper "First of September."

From 1991 to 1996, he headed the poetry department of the literary magazine "Hard Sign".

In Nezavisimaya Gazeta , from January 1996, he led a specialized strip dedicated to religious issues; since January 1997 - executive editor of the NG Religion application (since January 1999 it has been published as an independent publication twice a month and once as a digest of two issues of the previous month in the main 16-page NG body) ^[13] .

In 2002, he first appeared on television in the frame as a guest of Vladimir Pozner ’s talk show “ The Times ” on ORT . He also spoke a lot in Svetlana Sorokina ’s program “ Basic Instinct ” ^[16] .

From October 2005 to June 2011, having accepted the invitation of Konstantin Ernst , he hosted the author’s socio-political talk show “ Judge for Yourself ” on Channel One ^{[17] [18]} . In 2007 and 2008, he hosted the televised debate of candidates for deputies of the State Duma and the President of Russia on the same channel ^{[19] [20]} . In 2008, for his professional activities as part of the “Judge for Yourself” TV show, he was awarded the Golden Pen of Russia Prize of the Union of Journalists of Russia ^[21] .

Shevchenko is also a frequent guest of the morning show “ Sergey Stillavin and his friends” of the Mayak radio station, speaks in the program “ Special Opinion ” at the Ekho Moskvy station.

He left the channel after the conflict with Minaev with regards to joint program management ^[33] .

Social and Political Activities

• During the presidential election in Ukraine in 2004, he worked at the headquarters of Viktor Yanukovych ^[34] .

In August, he submitted 17,500 signatures to the CEC for verification and further registration (3% of the number of voters). On August 13, the regional CEC did not register Shevchenko because of the results of the signature examination, the candidate himself associated this decision with his conflict with the head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs and promised to forward a complaint to the head of the CEC of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova ^{[41] [42] [29]} .

In early 2018, Shevchenko became the confidant of the Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin ^[48] , supported him in the presidential election ^{[49] [50]} .

In June 2018, he became one of the leaders of the election headquarters of the Communist Party candidate Vadim Kumin in the mayoral election of Moscow ^[51] .

On June 16, 2018, the Communist Party was nominated as a candidate for governor of the Vladimir region in the upcoming elections . Shevchenko himself noted that this is due, in particular, to the fact that he knows the region very well. He also led the party’s list in the regional parliamentary elections ^[52] .

On August 3, the election committee of the Vladimir Region refused to register Maxim Shevchenko, citing the fact that he did not overcome the “ municipal filter ” by submitting an insufficient number of signatures of municipal deputies ^[53] ; on August 6, the list for elections to the Legislative Assembly led by Shevchenko was registered ^[54] . Participation in the election campaigns was built on harsh criticism of the current governor of the region Svetlana Orlova ^{[55] [56]} .

On September 9, 2018, he was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region, where he took the post of head of the Communist Party faction, and also became a member of the regional parliament committee on agrarian policy, environmental management and the environment, and also became a member of the committee on industrial policy, investment, small and medium business, strategic planning and ownership ^[57] .

Divorced, there is a son ^[58] (in his own words - the father of two children) ^[59] . The ex-wife is a journalist of the Russian state broadcasting channel Russia Today Nadezhda Kevorkova ^{[60] [61] [62]} .

Shevchenko calls himself an internationalist ^[63] , considers himself an unconditional statesman , but is not an imperialist ^[64] . He says that he will never accept the collapse of the USSR ^[65] , he advocated breaking the cooperation between Russia and NATO ^[66] . Regarding his religious views, in an interview with the online publication “Religion and the Media” he noted the following: “ No. I did not accept Islam. I was and remain an Orthodox Christian, a member of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. And I declare this clearly and clearly, being in a sober mind and sound memory. My relations with certain people are commonplace for a journalist. I separate work from ideology. These concepts have a different basis. I have good friends among Muslims and Orthodox Christians, among Protestants and among unbelievers, among Communists and among Democrats. Being a public person, I, at the same time, do not consider it possible not to talk about my religious hope and political views ” ^[64] .

In 2013, Shevchenko called the “Russian genocide” in Chechnya “a legend that does not have sufficiently clear evidence,” since the massacre of the Russians “ occurred after the start of the massive bombing of Grozny ” ^[67] .

In 2014, Shevchenko spoke about the outcome of the reign of the Romanov dynasty : “ The Romanov dynasty, starting with Alexei Mikhailovich, the father of Peter, is more like a dynasty of invaders on Russian soil ” ^[68] .

In December 2014, he advocated a war with Ukraine: “We must really fight. This law is the law of war. I am for the war ... Those Russian troops who are there [in Ukraine] are ... sent there on a special business trip. And once again I emphasize that it would be strange if they were not there. If they were not there, then frankly, we could have a surprised look at our government ... The price would be worthless to such a government ” ^[69] He believes that“ it was necessary to take Mariupol ”and that“ war should not be limited to this space two enclaves ( DPR and LPR ) ” ^[70] .

In 2015, he approved the International Russian Conservative Forum held in St. Petersburg with the participation of fascist parties: “Russia is fighting not with fascism, but with liberal fascism, so participation of representatives of fascist parties in the“ International Russian Conservative Forum “is normal.” According to him, the fact that Russia provides a platform for the performance of all political forces is a good sign. Russia allows those politicians who have been excluded from the political dialogue in Europe to speak out. “This means that there is more democracy in Russia than in Europe” ^[71] .

In the economy, Shevchenko approves of inflation (“The fact is that inflation is not a disaster. Inflation is a natural tool to overcome the economic crisis. And artificial containment of the money supply, inflation is only in the hands of speculators who work with dollars” ^[72] ), food embargo (“These sanctions [pro-embargo] were introduced correctly when they were introduced, I immediately supported them. I believe that international speculators who, destroying Russian agriculture and domestic agricultural production, they overwhelm Russia, as it were, with the products of foreign agricultural production, support foreign countries and simply pump money out of our population ... But we ourselves cannot produce dairy products ... Shevchenko welcomes the disurbanization : “moving the Russian population to the village will lead to stability, each family will have five children” ^[77]

In 2017, Shevchenko resolutely spoke out in defense of the Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov ^[78] , who was arrested in Nice . Kerimov, according to Shevchenko, is “one of the pillars of the Russian legal, respectable business” ^[79] .

On January 30, 2018, on the air of Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, N. Svanidze entered into a dispute with M. Shevchenko about the responsibility of I. Stalin for the catastrophic defeats of the Soviet army at the beginning of World War II. During the dispute, Svanidze hit Shevchenko in the face, and Shevchenko dumped Svanidze on the studio floor with several blows ^[80] .

In May 2018, he announced his withdrawal from the HRC in protest, caused by the refusal of this body to discuss public mass arrests and beating in Moscow by unknown armed groups of protesters during the action “ He is not our king ” ^[81] .

Opposes pension reform in Russia ^[82] .

He approves the military presence of the Russian Federation in the Central African Republic , believes that it is the most important country in Africa: “These are literally placers of diamonds, placers of gold and uranium deposits. The CAR is one of the richest mineral countries in Africa. ” In an interview, he stated that this allows for the implementation of policies in all neighboring countries, immediately becoming an operator throughout West and Central Africa ^[83] . He welcomes the sending of Russian PMCs to Libya “from the point of view of protecting the national interests of our people”: “if the sending of military units was in the interests of the Russian people there, then it would be rich, prosper ... This would increase domestic production and new markets would appear. ” ^[84]

He advocates the revival of the custom of blood feud in Russia ^[85] .

According to Darya Mitina , “Max Shevchenko is a person who has no views, he can equally passionately, equally confidently express any position” ^[86] .

The publicist Alexander Skobov called Shevchenko a fascist “with a certain touch of leftism” ^[87] .

According to the writer and publicist D. L. Bykov , expressed in the Sobesednik newspaper, Shevchenko has a reputation among the liberals as a fundamentalist , he is regularly called a "cannibal, provocateur and fanatic" , and also that "Shevchenko takes a radical position in assessing the Middle East situation" in support of the Islamist movement Hamas and against Israel ^[88] . A similar opinion about Shevchenko is held in an article in the journal Continent by publicist T. Boyarsky. ^[89] . Alexander Sherman, head of the Nezavisimaya Gazeta department, believes Shevchenko’s position to be biased and claims that Shevchenko distorts the facts when describing the Arab-Israeli conflict ^[90] . Публицист Л. А. Радзиховский в газете « Еврейское слово » высказал мнение, что «Шевченко стал, можно сказать, неофициальным послом Хамас в России» ^[91] .

Утверждение Шевченко, что идеология Хамас аналогична христианской демократии , подверг критике философ и политолог А. Г. Дугин ^[92] :

И я просто удивлюсь некоей пристрастности наших людей, которые настолько любят фундаментальный исламизм, работая на Первом канале, что уже для этого утверждают самые нелепые вещи .

В то же время Дугин отметил, что: ^[93]

Максим Шевченко… Это, мне кажется, лучший сейчас наш ведущий, действительно серьёзный человек, который ставит серьёзные вопросы, поднимает серьёзные проблемы .

Политолог и политический географ Д. Б. Орешкин в « Еженедельном журнале » раскритиковал и опроверг утверждение ^[94] Шевченко в эфире « Эха Москвы » о том, что якобы в годы сталинских репрессий не было массовых судебных процессов, в которых бы подсудимыми было 58 человек, как в деле о террористическом акте в Нальчике в 2005 году . Орешкин указывает, что по одному только делу «Всеукраинского центрального блока» осенью 1937 года в Соловецком лагере осуждены и расстреляны 134 человека, даже если не принимать во внимание массовые внесудебные расправы ^[95] .

27 июля 2011 года Российский еврейский конгресс обратился с письмом в Общественную палату РФ с призывом исключить Максима Шевченко из её рядов. РЕК также направил письмо руководству « Первого канала » с призывом приостановить сотрудничество с Максимом Шевченко и убрать из ночного эфира выпуски его еженедельного ток-шоу « Судите сами ». О развале СССР :

Беловежское соглашение 1991 года , которое было подписано в маленьком партийном домике в Беловежской пуще Ельциным, Кравчуком и Шушкевичем, — было есть и остаётся вопиющим примером предательства интересов народов ради интересов, желаний и чаяний узкой группы номенклатуры и бюрократии.
