The factory project was developed by the Yuggiproshakht Institute on a single industrial site with the Dolzhanskaya-Kapitalnaya mine to enrich the anthracite produced by this mine. Sverdlovskaya was conceived as an enterprise of the future and its design reflected the latest technical and engineering solutions for its time. The company began operations in 1981 . The mastered industrial capacity of the enterprise is 5600 thousand tons per year. Part of the technical solutions had to be abandoned for economic reasons.
For the first time, drying of fine concentrate in fluidized bed apparatus was used at the factory. The factory’s technology is built on the technological principle: two autonomous sections, each with two-threaded equipment. This achieves the wide opportunities of the factory for the enrichment of anthracite and coal of any quality, composition or purpose.
