John Dili ( born John Deely ; April 26, 1942 - January 7, 2017 ) is an American philosopher and semiotic . Professor, University of St. Tom ( Houston , USA ). President of the American Semiotics Society and Vice President of the International Semiotics Association. He was invited to give lectures at a number of universities in the countries of America and Europe: Brazil, Mexico, Finland.
Editor of the Scientific Notes of the American Semiotics Society.
Author of several monographs and more than 100 articles on semiotics. The works are translated into a number of languages. The most famous works: “Introduction to Semiotics”, “Philosophical Dimensions of the Origin of Species”, “Man Applies Signs”, “On the Eve” (early philosophy), “Heidegger Tradition”, etc.
