Toyotichi Kurita ( Japanese 栗 田 豊 通 Kurita Toyotichi , 1950 , Mito , Japan ) is a Japanese cameraman. Winner of the Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography in the movie Insanity .

Biography

Born in 1950 in Mito , Japan. Since 1974 he began working in the cinema as an assistant operator. In 1981 he graduated from the American Institute of Motion Picture Arts [2] . His first film as the main cameraman was the 1985 film " Insanity " directed by Alan Rudolph. Known for the films “ Taboo ” directed by Nagisa Oshima , “ Wheel of Fortune ” by Robert Altman, as well as in collaboration with film director Tyler Perry .
