Beverly Silver ( Eng. Beverly Judith Silver , p. 1957) - American sociologist, researcher of labor and economic development. Professor of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University [1] .

Biography
She grew up in Detroit , during a period of intense struggle of the working class. [2] She took an active part in the trade union of agricultural workers and a solidarity campaign with Chile .
She studied at Barnard College ( bachelor , economics ). She received a Ph.D. at Binghamton University , where she took part in research at the Center. Fernand Braudel on the study of economies, historical systems and civilizations. She collaborated with scientists such as Giovanni Arrigi, Immanuel Wallerstein , Terence Hopkins and contributed to the development of the school of world-system analysis .
In 2005, the workforce monograph received an award from the American Sociological Association .
