Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Chebotaryov ( 1928 - 1994 ) - Soviet boxer and boxing coach. Biography
Alexander Chebotaryov was born on April 10, 1928 in Moscow . He was engaged in boxing in the voluntary sports society " Labor Reserves ", in 1944 and 1946 he became the champion of the USSR among juniors in the category up to 57 kg.
As an athlete, he achieved the greatest success in the 1951 season, when he performed at the USSR Championship in Donetsk and won the silver dignity here - in the decisive duel of the welterweight category he lost to Leningrad German Lobodin . A year later, at similar competitions in Moscow , he again boxed in the welterweight classification and this time became a bronze medalist. Fulfilled the standard of the master of sports of the USSR .
He graduated from the Moscow College of Physical Culture and Sports. After completing his sports career, he switched to coaching. He was a member of the coaching team of the national team of the Soviet Union, in particular, he trained Soviet boxers for the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome . In the period 1970-1980, as the head coach, he headed the junior team of the USSR. Subsequently, for many years, he held the position of senior coach of the All-Union Sports and Athletic Society Dynamo .
Over the years of coaching, he prepared a number of titled athletes who have achieved success in the international arena. One of his most famous students is Honored Master of Sports Stanislav Stepashkin , champion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo , two-time European champion, three-time champion of the USSR. His other student, Honored Master of Sports Boris Nikonorov , became the silver medalist of the European Championship, six-time champion of the USSR, a participant in the Olympic Games in Rome, who later also became a successful coach. He took part in the preparation of the silver medalist of the Roman Olympics, European champion Sergei Sivko [1] [2] .
For outstanding achievements in the coaching field in 1960, Alexander Chebotaryov was awarded the honorary title " Honored Coach of the USSR " [3] .
He died in 1994.
