Brother of Neferhotep I and Sahathor .
Significantly strengthened central authority over all of Egypt. But, despite this, its influence in the south could hardly spread to the island of Arco (above the 3rd Nile threshold ). His statue in human height, found on this island, was apparently transported there from Egypt by some later Nubian ruler. The extensive construction activities of Sobekhotep IV are indicated by inscriptions in the Karnak Temple . Several of his statues are found in the Nile Delta .
He reigned for about 10 years.
