Biography
Born in 1943. From his youth he began to play tennis. In 1962, he fulfilled the standard for the title of Master of Sports of the USSR. He played for CSKA ( Moscow ). He was the champion of the RSFSR (1965 - singles; 1965, 1967, 1972-1973 - doubles; 1972-1973 - mixed). Champion DSO " Spartak " (1963) in singles. Champion of the Armed Forces of the USSR (1965) in doubles.
A graduate of the Rostov State Pedagogical Institute and the Donetsk Higher Military-Political School . Even during his own sports performances, he took up coaching. He held the post of senior trainer of the North Caucasus Military District in 1964-1973, was the team leader and head coach of the USSR Armed Forces in 1977-1989. Coach of the youthful and junior tennis teams of the USSR in 1978-1989. Head of the sports games department of CSKA in 1989-1990.
Honored Coach of the RSFSR (1983) and the USSR (1991).
Among his wards are N. Bykova , E. Granaturov, A. Zverev, A. Olkhovsky , S. Parkhomenko , K. Pugaev [1] .
He died on September 15, 2002. [2]
In September 2011, Sochi hosted the city championship among junior tennis players, dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Fedotovich Vasiliev [3] .
