Petro Runets, real name is Pyotr Nikolaevich Runets (May 4, 1911, Ozerichino , now the Pukhovichi District , Minsk Region, Belarus - March 5, 1997) is a Belarusian prose writer.
Biography
Born May 4, 1911 in the village of Ozerichino, Igumen district, Minsk province, in a peasant family. In 1930 he graduated from courses at the Borisov Pedagogical College. He taught in the villages of Glinishchi and Selib of the Berezinsky district. He entered in 1937, and in 1940 graduated from the S. Kirov Communist Institute of Journalism in Minsk. In the fall of 1940, he was drafted into the Red Army. Participated in battles in Lithuania, on the Volkhov, Stalingrad fronts. Twice wounded. In May 1943, demobilized. He worked in the evacuation hospital, and then in the Novokuznetsk newspaper " Bolshevik Steel ". In 1946-1953, he was the head of the editorial department of the newspaper "Pioneer of Belarus", in 1953-1963. literary employee of the magazine "Birch", in 1963-1971 - editor-stylist on the Belarusian Radio. He is the author of collections of short stories and short stories “Young Fighters” (1940), “Spring Days” (1954), “Birch Horse” (1956), “Gypsum Mask” (1958), “The End of a Tale” (1960), “Zalamany horn” ( 1961), “Funny incidents” (1962), “Alyoshka the high-climber” (1963), “What cal is whispering about” (1966) (both stories in 1971 were published as a separate book “Alyoshka and his friends”), “An Important Assignment” (1968), “White Cornflower” (1971), “Good Soul” (1977), “Unusual Collection” (1981), “Unusual Visitor” (1985), “Last Happiness” (humoresque, 1984). He published the one-act play “Blue Sand” (1959).
Compiled a collection of memoirs of children about the war, “We Will Never Forget” (with Yanka Mavram, 1948). In 1979, he published a brochure about Janka Moor, "A Man with a Winged Fantasy."
