Guiana harlequins [1] ( lat. Oreophrynella ) is a genus of tailless amphibians from the family of toads that live on the tepu of southern Venezuela and adjacent Guyana [2] [3] . The range of some species is limited to a couple of tepui or even one, as in the case of Oreophrynella weiassipuensis , which is found exclusively on Wei-Assipu-tepui [4] .

The body length of Guiana harlequins is less than 26 mm. They are characterized by opposed toes, tubercles on the upper side of the body and direct development [4] .
