Grigoriev, Boris Afanasevich

Born on June 24, 1941 in Baku (Azerbaijan).

In 1963, he graduated from the Grozny Oil Institute , and in 1966, graduate school in the same place where he worked in the future, having gone from an assistant to the first vice-rector (1986-1992), and then - the acting rector.

In 1980, he defended his doctoral dissertation.

In 1982 - awarded the academic title of professor.

From 1993 to 1994 - Deputy Director of the Scientific Center of the All-Russian Institute of Natural Gases and Gas Technologies.

In the mid-1990s, he was hired by the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation as an expert on fuel and energy issues, and was subsequently appointed to the post of head of the Center for Presidential Programs of the Presidential Administration .

Subsequently, he worked both in government positions: in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, including as head of the Center for Presidential Programs, deputy governor of the Tula Region and the Minister of Government of the Moscow Region; as well as scientific ones: chief researcher at the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences

In 2011, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAS .

A specialist in the study of the thermophysical properties of oil, oil products and hydrocarbons.

Scientific interests: thermophysical properties and phase equilibria of working fluids, hydrocarbons, oils, gas condensates and products of their processing in wide ranges of state parameters.

The author of more than 300 scientific papers, 8 monographs, study guides.

He created a laboratory for the study of the thermophysical properties of oils, oil products, gas condensates and hydrocarbons, which he led for more than a quarter of a century, which after 10 years of operation became the largest in Europe, and it conducted unique studies of the thermophysical properties of the main groups of oil hydrocarbons in the liquid and vapor phases, including phase transition lines and the critical region, more than 500 oil samples of various fields, products of their processing, motor, aviation, transformer oils and fuels.

He performed complex experimental and computational-theoretical studies of the thermophysical properties of oils, oil products, gas condensates and their fractions, the main groups of oil hydrocarbons in the liquid and vapor phases, including phase transition lines and the critical region (1963-1993), and together with the staff developed universal calculation methods properties in a wide range of temperatures and pressures that formed the basis of the "Integrated system for providing the national economy with normative and reference data on the thermophysical properties of those canonically important gases and liquids "(USSR Council of Ministers Prize, 1987).

The results of studies of the density and thermal conductivity of ordinary and heavy water, obtained by B. A. Grigoryev, were used in the preparation of the International Standards for these properties (1974-1999), and studies of promising energy carriers (sulfur hexafluoride, some hydrocarbons, fuels and oils) and aqueous solutions of salts of alkaline and rare-earth elements (1980-1995) were used in the development of tables of standard reference data, switching equipment for special purposes, motors, powerful transformers, catalysis moat et al. (State Prize of Russia, 1996).

Under his leadership, 5 doctoral and 30 master's theses were defended.
