Biography

Born on August 22, 1950 in the city of Ochamchira of the Abkhaz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, now Abkhazia. [2]

He spent his youth in Kiev . From school he was fond of weightlifting (barbell). [3] He graduated from the Kiev College of Transport Construction. Already a veteran, he was a participant in the weightlifting championships of Ukraine, Europe and the world; President of the Weightlifting Veterans Club. After serving in the Soviet army, he worked as a foreman and senior foreman in the Kiev Motor Transport Company No. 09104. Since 1989, he has been engaged in entrepreneurial activity, having opened and headed several cooperatives in Kiev. In 1992, with the assistance of criminal authority Semyon Mogilevich , he was appointed to the state administration of railway transport of Ukraine - “ Ukrzaliznytsya ”, where he was in charge of fuel purchases. He was the authorized representative of Ukrzaliznitsi in Czechoslovakia , after which he was in senior positions in the Ukrzaliznitsi system. [2]

In 1993, Ubiriya became deputy chairman of the board of shareholders of Express Bank , created to manage financial flows of Ukrzaliznytsia. Then he engaged in party activities and as one of the party leaders in 1994 was invited to the United States , where he spent several years and was able to become an honorary citizen of Dallas and Wisconsin . Returning to Ukraine, in 1998 he ran for the Verkhovna Rada, was not elected. He worked as a beach director at the Kiev beautification plant. In December of the same year, he participated in the funeral of businessman Mikhail Tokar, who was shot in Uzhgorod . [five]

In 2002, Vakhtang Shalvovich entered into personal and business relations with the head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko . They became the main executors of Mogilevich’s intrigue to oust Itera, a company that supplied natural gas to Ukraine, and was also the operator for the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine. The latest information about V. Sh. Ubiriya dates back to June 2010, when he threatened reporters with a gun, firing from him into the air. Ubiria immediately went to the hospital with a diagnosis of heart failure and high blood pressure. On June 21, media reported about his death, which turned out to be false. The court found Vakhtang Ubiriy guilty, but the Odessa official fell under amnesty. After this, there is no reliable information about Ubirius, according to some reports, he hid in Israel. [2]
