Miller, Galina Nikolaevna

Galina Nikolaevna Melnik (born April 27, 1970 in Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian athlete, a table tennis player . Winner of the 1994 World Cup team, European champion in the 1994 team category, two-time USSR champion, ten-time Russian champion in various categories, Honored Master of Sports of Russia (1995) [1] . Took part in three summer olympiads.

Sports career

Galina Melnik was included in the USSR national team in 1988 [1] . Graduated from the Russian State Academy of Physical Culture .

In 1989 she became the champion of the USSR in doubles, in 1991 she became the last champion of the USSR in singles.

In 1990, Galina Melnik, as part of the USSR team, achieved her first success in the international arena - bronze medals in doubles at the European Championships in Gothenburg . In 1994, as part of the Russian national team, Galina Melnik won the gold medals at the European Championships in Birmingham and the World Cup in Nimes [3] .

She took part in three summer olympiads - 1992, 2000 and 2004 [4] .

Ten - time champion of Russia - in the singles category of 1992, 1995 and 1997, in the doubles category of 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 and in the mixed category of 1997.

She played for the Moscow City Physical Culture and Sports Association [1] .
