Royal regalia of Italy ( Italian: Tesoro della Corona d'Italia ) - attributes of the power of the monarchs of Italy . Since Italy as a single state arose only in 1861, the royal regalia of Italy are considered attributes of power of the Savoy dynasty , which ruled from 1861 to 1946. Along with them, attributes of power to the monarchies that existed at different times in the territory of the Italian kingdom , including the Sardinian kingdom , the Lombard kingdom , the Kingdom of both Sicilies , the Grand Duchy of Tuscany , as well as the Venetian Republic are ranked among the royal regalia of Italy.
After the abolition of the monarchy in Italy in 1946, following a constitutional referendum, part of the royal regalia of the Savoy dynasty came under the control of the government of the country, these regalia are in the vault of the Bank of Italy , in a special box with three shelves with velvet lace lining [1] . Representatives of the House of Savoy in the early 2000s announced their willingness to support the display of royal regalia for the general public [2] .
