Biography

Parents B.S. Maynagashev from the village of Casanovka ( Askiz district , Khakassia ). After leaving school in the Novoselovsky district, he worked as the director of the creamery. Then he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering School named after Admiral S. O. Nakhimov (in 1949 he received the specialty "Navigation Engineer"). Assistant captain on the icebreakers "Alyosha Popovich", "Sibiryakov", "Krasin", "Ermak", "Ilya Muromets" (1950-1955); senior assistant, then captain of the ships of the Murmansk Shipping Company of the Ministry of the Navy (1955-1963); Head of Shipping and Operations of the Western Region of the Soviet Arctic; Deputy Head of the Administration of the Northern Sea Route (since 1971); Head of the Main Marine Inspectorate of the USSR Navy, member of the collegium of the Ministry of the Navy of the USSR (1979) [1] .

In the fall of 1983 , when 22 transport vessels were captured in the Arctic, he was appointed chief of staff for the rescue of the fleet. Under his leadership, as a result of the coordinated efforts of sailors, pilots, hydrographs and other specialists, all vessels were rescued within two months [2] .

With his direct participation, experimental trips were carried out, the results of which allowed us to develop a new tactics for sailing in the Arctic seas and a new strategy for the development of deposits in the North.

From 1992 to 1996 - head of the Permanent Mission of Khakassia to the President of the Russian Federation. Honorary citizen of Askiz district of Khakassia.

He was awarded the Orders of Lenin (1983), the October Revolution (1977), two orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1962, 1970), the Order of Merit for Khakassia and many medals.

Honored Worker of Transport of Russia, Honored Worker of the Ministry of the Navy of the USSR, Honored Polar Officer, Honored Worker of the USSR State Committee for Hydrometeorology.

According to the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Khakassia, he was the first engineer-navigator of Khakass origin. [one]

He died on September 17 at the age of 91 after a long illness. He was buried at home in the village of Casanovka (Askiz district).
