Biography
Born in 1921. He became interested in fencing at school. In 1943 he graduated from the P.F. Lesgafta , during the Great Patriotic War, was an instructor in ski and mountain physical training for commanders of special groups at training bases in the Caucasus and Central Asia. Passed the blockade of Leningrad .
He worked as a trainer in the ShVSM of Leningrad and in the DSO " Petrel ". In 1946 - coach of the Leningrad national team. In the 1950s - coach of the USSR fencing team. He also worked with the team of the GDR (1966-1968).
He was awarded the honorary title " Honored Coach of the RSFSR " (1964) and " Honored Coach of the USSR ." Among his wards are winners and medalists of the Olympic Games and World Championships E. Vinokurov , V. Zhdanovich , B. Melnikov [1] . In total, his students won six gold and one silver Olympic medals, 14 gold medals at the world championships and eight gold medals at the USSR championships [2] .
He was also engaged in teaching. He was the head of the department of martial arts (later - fencing and weightlifting) GDOIFKa named after P.F. Lesgaft in 1973-1984 Associate Professor (1975). He is the author of scientific papers [3] .
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .
He died in 1997. He was buried at the Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery in St. Petersburg [4] .
