Geographical position

The plant was located on the Sharan river (a tributary of the Xun river, the Belaya river basin), 130 versts west of the city of Ufa , in the Ufa district [1] , on the northwestern outskirts of the village of Sharan, at the intersection of the road and the Sharan river.

Factory History

Ground

The plant was founded by Grigory Semenovich Krasilnikov (1726—?) On the Sharan River, on lands bought from the Bashkirs of the village of the Kir-Ilan volost of the Kazan Road [2] .

Permission to build the plant was issued on August 5, 1752. In 1752-1754, the construction of the plant was underway. The first copper smelting at the plant took place on August 22, 1754 [1] .

XVIII

The plant had the following equipment: two factories, in the first of which there were 4 smelting furnaces, and in the second - 2 barber shops, a bayonet furnace, crushing with 5 pestles; forge, fur workshop. The plant owned 114 thousand acres of land, 122 mines, the main of which were the Uyazinsky mine - in 150 versts, the Sylninsky mine in 100 versts and the Sakatovsky mine - in 30 versts. The copper content in the ore was up to 4% [1] .

In 1774, during the uprising of E.I. Pugachev , the plant was destroyed, and part of the peasants took the side of the rebels. The plant was restored only in the middle of 1776 [1] .

The number of the plant in 1782 consisted of 97 serf artisans and working people, of whom 47 people worked at the plant, the rest - on auxiliary works. The plant did not have its own forest cottage, there was also a lack of labor, remoteness of mines, and poverty of ore - all this made the plant unprofitable, and in 1795 production was discontinued [1] .

XIX century

In 1809, due to the large debt of the plant owners, the Senate put the plant up for auction, but could not sell, as there were no buyers. In 1836, the inactive plant was finally destroyed, its buildings and equipment sold at public auction for transportation [1] .

21st Century

Currently, only the remains of the factory dam, which in the past went to the construction of the road and the bridge, have remained from the plant. The pond is lowered, but its contours are still visible. On the site of the shops is a tire fitting [3] .

Plant Productivity

The plant smelted copper annually in 1754-1760 at 731 pounds, in 1761-1770 - 1039 pounds, in 1771-1780 - 1166 pounds, in 1781-1790 - 692 pounds, in 1791-1795 - 190 pounds. Over the entire period of its existence, the plant smelted 35 thousand pounds (574 tons) of copper [1] .
